### Tools and Materials
* Kohler undermount kitchen sink
* Measuring tape
* Pencil
* Jigsaw or reciprocating saw
* Screwdriver
* Silicone caulk
* Caulking gun
* Utility knife
* Wet/dry vacuum
### Step 1: Measure and Cut the Countertop
1. Place the sink upside down on the countertop and center it.
2. Use a pencil to trace around the sink, leaving a 1/2-inch reveal all around.
3. Remove the sink and use a jigsaw or reciprocating saw to cut out the hole according to the tracing.
4. Check the fit of the sink and make any necessary adjustments to the cut.
### Step 2: Prepare the Sink and Countertop
1. Clean the sink and countertop with a damp cloth to remove any dust or debris.
2. Apply a bead of silicone caulk around the edge of the sink opening on the countertop.
3. Position the sink in the opening and press down firmly to spread the caulk.
### Step 3: Secure the Sink to the Countertop
1. On the underside of the sink, locate the screw holes or mounting brackets.
2. Place the sink in the opening and align the screw holes or mounting brackets with the holes or brackets on the countertop.
3. Insert the screws or bolts and tighten them until the sink is secure.
### Step 4: Apply Caulk and Seal
1. Apply a bead of silicone caulk around the perimeter of the sink where it meets the countertop.
2. Smooth the caulk with your finger or a caulk tool.
3. Use a utility knife to remove any excess caulk.
### Step 5: Clean and Dry
1. Use a damp cloth to wipe away any caulk residue.
2. Allow the caulk to dry completely before using the sink.
### Tips
* Use a level to ensure that the sink is installed level.
* If you are installing a sink with multiple bowls, be sure to cut the countertop hole accordingly.
* Allow the caulk to cure for at least 24 hours before using the sink.
* Avoid using abrasive cleaners on the caulk as this can damage the seal.
### Troubleshooting
* **The sink is not level.** Adjust the screws or bolts holding the sink in place to level it.
* **The caulk is not adhering properly.** Check the surface of the sink and countertop for any debris or dirt that may be preventing the caulk from sticking. Clean the surfaces and reapply the caulk.
* **There is a leak around the sink.** Remove the old caulk and reapply a new bead of caulk around the perimeter of the sink. Allow the caulk to dry completely before using the sink.
