### Tools and Materials
* Adjustable wrench
* Basin wrench
* Level
* Measuring tape
* Plumber’s putty
* Silicone caulk
* Utility knife
* Screwdriver
### Step 1: Turn Off the Water Supply
Using the adjustable wrench, turn off the water supply valves under the sink. Open the faucet to release any residual water in the lines.
### Step 2: Remove the Old Sink
Loosen the mounting nuts with the adjustable wrench and remove them by hand. Carefully lift the old sink out of the countertop. Clean the countertop thoroughly with soap and water.
### Step 3: Position the New Sink
Place the new sink in the hole in the countertop, centering it evenly. Use the level to ensure that the sink is level both front-to-back and side-to-side.
### Step 4: Apply Plumber’s Putty to the Sink Base
Roll out a rope of plumber’s putty about 1/2-inch thick and apply it all around the underside of the sink rim, about 1/2-inch from the edge. This bead of putty will create a watertight seal between the sink and countertop.
### Step 5: Set the Sink in Place
Carefully lift the sink back into the hole in the countertop, pressing down firmly all around the rim to seat the plumber’s putty. Use the basin wrench to tighten the mounting nuts until they are snug. Do not overtighten, as this can damage the sink or countertop.
### Step 6: Cut the Excess Plumber’s Putty
Use the utility knife to trim off any excess plumber’s putty that has squeezed out around the edges of the sink.
### Step 7: Install the Faucet and Drain
Connect the water supply lines to the faucet and insert the faucet into the hole in the sink. Secure the faucet with the mounting nuts. Follow the manufacturer’s instructions to install the drain and any accessories, such as a soap dispenser or garbage disposal.
### Step 8: Caulk Around the Sink
Apply a bead of silicone caulk around the perimeter of the sink where it meets the countertop. Use your finger or a caulk tool to smooth out the bead. This bead of caulk will provide a waterproof seal and prevent water from leaking between the sink and countertop.
### Step 9: Turn on the Water Supply
Turn on the water supply valves under the sink and check for any leaks. If you find any leaks, tighten the nuts or bolts until the leak stops.
### Step 10: Clean Up
Wipe up any excess caulk or other debris that may have accumulated during the installation process. Your new kitchen sink is now installed!
### Tips
* If your countertop is made of granite or quartz, you will need to use a special sealant designed for non-porous surfaces.
* If you are installing a large or heavy sink, you may need to have a helper to lift it into place.
* Be sure to follow all of the manufacturer’s instructions carefully for specific installation requirements.
